Copyright policy
Gamestage hosts games that creators build and deploy, and the words, pictures and data inside them. If something hosted on Gamestage uses your work without permission, tell us and we will act on it. This page says how.
Report infringement
Send a notice to our copyright contact:
- Service provider: Monterosa Productions Ltd
- Send notices to: Copyright Agent, Monterosa Productions Ltd
- Email: support@monterosa.co
- Post: 3B The Plaza, Floor 3, 100 Old Hall Street, Liverpool L3 9QJ, United Kingdom
Your notice needs these six things, so we can act on it:
- Your signature, physical or electronic, as the owner of the work or someone authorised to act for them.
- The work you say is being copied. For a list of works, a representative list is enough.
- Where the copy is: the address of the game or page, and enough detail to find the material in it.
- How to reach you: name, postal address, telephone and email.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
What we do with a notice
- We take down, or disable access to, the material the notice identifies, as soon as we reasonably can. For a deployed game that means taking the game offline or removing the file.
- We tell the creator who deployed it, and send them a copy of the notice.
- We keep a record of the notice and what we did.
If your content was taken down
If you are the creator and you believe the material was removed by mistake, or that you have the right to use it, send a counter-notice to the same contact. It needs:
- Your signature, physical or electronic.
- What was removed, and where it was before it was removed.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where we may be found), and that you will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.
We send the counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have started a court action, we restore the material between 10 and 14 business days after we received the counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
We close the account of a creator who repeatedly infringes others' copyright. Two notices that we act on, and that are not successfully answered by a counter-notice, within twelve months, are enough. We may close an account after one where the infringement is clear and deliberate.
A false notice
A notice or counter-notice that knowingly misrepresents the facts can make the person who sent it liable for the costs and damages that follow. If you are not sure the use is infringing, take advice before sending one.
